The water-repellent products are not completely waterproof, but keep you dry in light rain. All Sasta surface fabrics excluding wool fabrics have water repellent treatment.

The water column value indicates how waterproof the clothing material is. Gore does not report water column ratings for its products. Gore-Tex products carry the GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY promise which means that the product protects you from rain and wind, and is still breathable. While repairing Gore-Tex products you must be careful not to pierce the waterproof membrane. If needed, consult sewing shop that is specialized in repairing Gore-Tex. Our repair service repairs all Sasta Gore-Tex products.

The zipper can be changed. If needed it can be done in Sasta repair shop in Nurmes. The fixed price for changing the zipper is 35 e + postage. Materials are included in the price.

Most Sasta surface fabrics have been pre-treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating that prevents the absorption of water and dirt into the material. If DWR has worn away in use or during washes, the garment can be reproofed. Waterproofers are sold in sports and outdoor stores, where you can also ask for advice on choosing the right product. The most important thing to remember is to choose the right product for the right material. There are separate products for different surface materials. 

Our repair service repairs all Sasta products over the years. Contact saara@sasta.fi for more detailed instructions. If for any reason the product cannot be repaired, we will notify you separately.

You can wash your Sasta Gore-Tex clothing at 30 or 40 degrees according to the washing instructions. Fabric softener must not be used when washing Gore-Tex® and Gore-Tex infinium® products, as it will block the microscopically small pores of the membrane. The use of bleach is also prohibited. Always remember to check the washing instructions before the wash.
